Before the 19th Mediterranean Games planned to be held in Oran, Algeria, the second and practical phase of the training organized by the Turkish Anti-Doping Commission for Doping Control Officers who will be taking part in the Games was completed in Oran, Algeria.

The theoretical phase of the training was organized online within the 4-day program by the Turkish Anti-Doping Commission training team on February 26-27 and March 5-6, 2022.

In the second phase of the Doping Control Officer training, General Director of the Turkish Anti-Doping Commission and Member of the Health and Anti-Doping Commission of the Mediterranean Games International Committee Prof. Dr. Rüştü Güner, Deputy General Director Mehmet C. Yoğurtcuoğlu, Risk Assessment Coordinator Selin Ayan, Doping Control Tasks Monitoring and Development Officer Murat Gündüz, Doping Control Officer Dr. Umutcan Kayıkçı, Legal Affairs Specialist & Algeria Education Coordinator Simge Bilge Karakaş conducted a face-to-face training program for 38 Doping Control Officers in Oran, Algeria on May 4-5, 2022.

World Anti-Doping Agency Africa Office Manager Sameh Elray and Sports Movement Manager Valentin Capelli, Mediterranean Games International Committee Health and Anti-Doping Commission President Zakia Bartagi, Algeria Anti-Doping Organization represented by Prof. Lamine Redouane Mekacher and Dr.Hakima Hamlaoui attended to the training program.

Within the scope of the training program, on May 4, 2022 the training team of the Turkish Anti-Doping Commission informed participants about certain scenarios and situations that Doping Control Officers and Chaperones may encounter during their duty. In addition, doping control materials were distributed to the participants at the tables formed in groups of 10, allowing them to get to know and try the materials closely. On 5 May, doping control samples were taken from the athletes in the Weightlifting competition for the practical training of the Doping Control Procedure.

In the evening of the same day, certificates were presented to the Doping Control Officer candidates who participated in the training with the attendance of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) representatives, Mediterranean Games International Committee Board members, Mediterranean Games International Committee (ICMG) Health and Anti-Doping Commission members, the Organizing Committee officials, especially Mohamed Aziz Derouaz, the Commissioner of the Oran Mediterranean Games Organizing Committee.

LA FORMATION DES AGENTS DE CONTRÔLE DU DOPAGE ALGÉRIENS S’EST ACHEVÉE À ORAN 

La deuxième phase pratique de la formation organisée par la Commission Turque de Lutte Contre le Dopage pour les agents de contrôle du dopage qui participeront aux Jeux s’est achevée à Oran, en Algérie avant les 19e Jeux Méditerranéens. 

En amont, la phase théorique de la formation a été organisée en ligne dans le cadre d’un programme de 4 jours par l’équipe de formation de la commission turque de lutte contre le dopage les 26-27 février et 5-6 mars 2022. 

S’est donc suivie la deuxième phase de la formation. L’équipe ayant menée un programme de formation en présentiel pour 38 agents de contrôle du dopage à Oran, en Algérie, les 4 et 5 mai 2022 était constituée du Prof. Dr. Rüştü Güner, directeur général de la Commission Turque de Lutte Contre le Dopage et également membre de la Commission Santé et Antidopage du Comité International des Jeux Méditerranéens, Mehmet C. Yoğurtcuoğlu, directeur général adjoint, Selin Ayan, coordinatrice de l’évaluation des risques, Murat Gündüz responsable du suivi et du développement des contrôles du dopage, Dr. Umutcan Kayıkçı, agent de contrôle du dopage et Simge Bilge Karakaş, juriste et coordinatrice du programme d’éducation en Algérie. 

Sameh Elray, le Responsable du Bureau Afrique de l’AMA, Valentin Capelli, Responsable des Relations avec le Mouvement Sportif de l’AMA, Zakia Bartagi, Présidente de la Commission Santé et Antidopage du Comité International des Jeux Méditerranéens, et l’Organisation Algérienne Antidopage, représentée par le Prof. Lamine Redouane Mekacher et le Dr. Hakima Hamlaoui, ont également participé au programme de formation. 

Lors du programme de formation du 4 mai 2022, l’équipe de formation de la Commission Turque de Lutte Contre le Dopage a informé les participants de certains scénarios et situations que les agents de contrôle du dopage et les escortes peuvent rencontrer dans l’exercice de leurs missions. En outre, du matériel de contrôle du dopage a été distribué aux participants aux tables formées par groupes de 10. Ceci leur a permis de connaître et d’essayer le matériel. Le 5 mai, des échantillons de contrôle du dopage ont été prélevés en compétition sur les sportifs en haltérophilie pour la formation pratique de la procédure de contrôle du dopage. 

Dans la soirée du même jour, des certificats ont été remis aux candidats agents de contrôle du dopage qui ont participé à la formation en présence des représentants de l’Agence Mondiale Antidopage (AMA), des membres du Conseil d’Administration du Comité International des Jeux Méditerranéens, des membres de la Commission Santé et Antidopage du CIJM, des officiels du Comité d’Organisation, notamment Mohamed Aziz Derouaz, le Commissaire du Comité d’Organisation des Jeux Méditerranéens d’Oran.
